Unfortunately, we've had to postpone the planned walk at Purleigh for today.
Instead, Cress will lead a walk from Writtle going to Edney Common, total about 10 miles. Bring something for your lunch, and meet at 10.30am at the Writtle village car park (CM1 3DT) near the duck pond ///upset.cracks.panic.

1912 Centre, Harwich

We've booked the 1912 Centre, a hostel in the old fire station in the Harwich Conservation Area.
This hostel is in the heart of Harwich heritage area, only 50m from the sandy beach, promenade and harbour. It was built in 1912 as the Town Fire Station, and has been converted to a fully-equipped hostel. We have sole use for this weekend. You'll need to bring a sleeping bag.
There'll be opportunities to explore the historic port. Visit Dedham and follow the Stour Estuary from Manningtree, Mistley and Wrabness to the seaside resort of Dovercourt.
Directions: Follow A120 to Harwich Quay, continue past the Navy Yard Wharf. The Centre is located in Cow Lane adjacent to the historic Electric Palace Cinema. Free on-street parking.

This is our chance to recap over the last year and look to the year ahead. The meeting starts on Zoom at 8.30pm. There is a phone alternative for those who struggle with the internet.
