Marconi Heritage Guided Walk

Jonathan

Following the popular Writtle walk last year, we have invited well-known local historian, Alan Pamphilon, to lead us on another a historical tour. Explore the site of the world’s first purpose built wireless factory with the iconic 1912 building in New Street, and learn how the young Guglielmo Marconi’s choice of a disused warehouse in Moulsham Street made Chelmsford the starting point of the Electronic Age.

Meet at 7.30pm by the Marconi mural outside the Duke Street entrance to Chelmsford Railway Station.

See Chelmsford History Walks.

We'll be asking for contributions of £5 per person.

Lighthouses of the British Isles

Dave P

A tour of the British coast by lighthouses.  Do you know how many lighthouses there are? How do they work? Which is the oldest? The tallest? The most remote?  Can you name any notable pharologists?

We’ve visited (or at least seen) a lot of lighthouses over the years, many on on CYHA trips, so join us on Zoom at 8.30pm to relive some of our adventures.
