YHA Canterbury is a splendid Victorian villa, just a mile from the city centre. Close to the Kent Downs, the Hostel is within easy reach of the North Downs Way, the Pilgrim's Way and the coastal footpaths - while the city itself has the cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey, various museums, guided tours, river trips and theatres.

Mill Green to Blackmore Walk

Meet in the public car park near the Cricketers pub in Mill Green (Ingatestone CM4 0RH) at 10:30am for a walk of about 6½ miles. Charming Essex villages, woodlands, deer and a very nice pub at the end. Please bring sandwiches for your lunch.

YHA Lee Valley

Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st December

A weekend at YHA Lee Valley for both city and countryside. The hostel is a series of wooden lodges in Lee Valley Regional Park, close to Cheshunt railway station. Walk in Lee Valley Park and explore miles of trails through the nature reserves and beside the River Lee. Or if you prefer, it's a 20-minute train ride to central London to see the Christmas lights and maybe visit some museums and galleries.
