Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd November Weekend in Canterbury Cress YHA Canterbury is a splendid Victorian villa, just a mile from the city centre. Close to the Kent Downs, the Hostel is within easy reach of the North Downs Way, the Pilgrim's Way and the coastal footpaths - while the city itself has the cathedral, St Augustine's Abbey, various museums, guided tours, river trips and theatres. The hostel is at 54 New Dover Road, CT1 3DT (from city centre follow A259/A2050 toward Dover, hostel is on the right after about a mile). Wednesday 6th November Pub meal - Six Bells Boreham Ali Let me know by 30 October if you want to join me for a slap-up meal in a late celebration of my birthday (yes, another one!). I'm planning on 7:30pm at the Six Bells, Main Road, Boreham CM3 3JE. Wednesday 13th November Committee Meeting Join us on Zoom for planning events for March and trips into the summer. Sunday 17th November Mill Green to Blackmore Walk Jim Meet in the public car park near the Cricketers pub in Mill Green (Ingatestone CM4 0RH) at 10:30am for a walk of about 6½ miles. Charming Essex villages, woodlands, deer and a very nice pub at the end. Please bring sandwiches for your lunch. Wednesday 27th November Northumberland Slide show Dave P and others An evening of pics from last year's trip to Mounthooly in Northumberland, plus a raiding party into Scotland courtesy of Dave and Ali's undertaking St Cuthberts Way. Sun, sea, saints and rain!
Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st December Lee Valley Dave P A weekend at YHA Lee Valley for both city and countryside. The hostel is a series of wooden lodges in Lee Valley Regional Park, close to Cheshunt railway station. Walk in Lee Valley Park and explore miles of trails through the nature reserves and beside the River Lee. Or if you prefer, it's a 20-minute train ride to central London to see the Christmas lights and maybe visit some museums and galleries. Directions: In Cheshunt, follow Windmill Lane past the station and over the level crossing, then bear left to the hostel.
