YHA Stratford-upon-avon is a Georgian mansion house set in over three acres of grounds in the quiet village of Alveston, just under two miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. Explore beautiful rural Warwickshire countryside, enjoy riverside walks by the Avon, visit Shakespeare’s birthplace, and Warwick and Kenilworth Castles are also nearby.

The classic 1946 film starring David Niven as an RAF pilot poised between life and death. 8pm at the Cramphorn Theatre, Chelmsford CM1 1JG (£12, no need to book).

Sunday 18th February - Walk

Snowdrop Walk: Little Easton and Great Easton

We have decided to postpone the planned Thames Estuary walk because, due to engineering works on the railway, there are no trains into Liverpool Street from the Chelmsford or Southend Victoria lines. Instead, we will walks around the Eastons, details below.

Join us for a walk of about 4 miles between Little Easton and Great Easton, followed by a visit to The Gardens of Easton Lodge for the "Snowdrop Sunday" open day.

Meet at 10.30am in Park Road, by the speed limit sign, a short distance east of Little Easton Church. Parking to the east of the speed limit sign is suggested. Ordnance Survey Grid Reference: TL606235 - Postcode: CM6 2JJ - What3Words ///otherwise.operation.defend .

Rolls, soup, cakes and hot drinks will be available in the gardens, but we suggest you bring sandwiches for lunch as well. We may also be able to visit the tea room at Little Easton Manor.

Admission to the gardens is £6.50 on the gate, or £5.50 in advance.
