We have booked Rydal Hall Bunkhouse for 5 nights, near Ambleside in the Lake District. Sheltered by the high fells of Fairfield and its neighbours, Rydal enjoys outstanding views toward Windermere, and provides an excellent base for walking.

Facilities include fully equipped kitchen, Bathroom/shower facilities, large common room with wood burning stove. Pillows are provided, but you'll need to bring a sleeping bag.

To find it, follow A591 for two miles north from Ambleside. In Rydal, turn right into the lane towards Rydal Mount, pass the church and take the second entrance on the right (just beyond the main gate of the hall). Pass behind the hall and over a small bridge. The youth centre is the large white building on the left (postcode LA22 9LX, see ///exporters.relaxed.back).

£90 deposit to book a bed please.

A circular walk of about 9 miles taking in the views and vineyards around Purleigh.  Please bring sandwiches for lunch. Ancestral Lands to Modern Challenges: The Story of the Mapuche Nation

An illustrated talk on Zoom with slides on the Mapuche Nation, indigenous inhabitants of south central Chile and southwestern Argentina. We’ll look at their history, customs and culture, and their heroic resistance to Inca and Spanish domination, including a review of their place in Chilean and Argentine society today.
