Pub Night
Spend this pleasant September evening with Jim at the Bear Public House in Stock, just off the High Street (B1007 south of Chelmsford, grid ref TQ691989, see map). STOP PRESS! The Bear is currently being refurbished. It should be open in time for the 6th, but just in case Jim has nominated The Cock just over the road as standby.
Wednesday 13th September
Ten Pin Bowling
An evening of chucking big, round, heavy things at little stick things at the other end of the room whilst wearing clown shoes. Who invented this game exactly? Meet 8pm at the MegaBowl, Rodney Way, Chelmsford. Please let Dave J know if you're coming. Approx cost £3.75 per game, plus £1 for shoe hire.

Committee Meeting As usual everyone is welcome to come to the Charles Peters Lounge and discuss the future events and trips the group will be booking in the months to come. All ideas and suggestions gratefully received.
Sunday 24th September
Sunday Walk
Trudi A walk of about 7 miles along the Suffolk bank of the River Stour and around the villages of Stutton and Brantham. We'll probably stop at a pub for a drink at some point on the route, but best to bring sandwiches for lunch. Meet at 11am at the village hall car park in Stutton (Grid Ref TM145348, see map).

National Trust Talk
Trudi One of a series of NT talks being held in the Cramphorn Theatre in Chelmsford, covering local history and conservation topics. This one is entitled "So, No Building Stones in East Anglia" and discusses the use of different building materials and architectural styles in East Anglia. There is a nominal charge for admission (about £1.50) and it starts at 7.45pm. The Cramphorn Theatre is in Fairfield Road, behind the bus station..
