Meet in the Budworth Hall car park in Banson’s Lane, Ongar CM5 9JG at 10:30am for a splendid 7 mile walk including a pub meal at the Green Man, Toot Hill. For table booking, let Cress know 6 Nov if you want to join us.

Bretton Hostel

Formerly YHA Bretton, this hostel has reopened as an Independent Hostel.  Located on Bretton Edge, near Eyam in the Peak District National Park, it is perched at 1200 feet above sea level, sitting within three acres of meadows and small copses with glorious far reaching views over the gritstone edges and moors of the Dark Peak to the north and the limestone plateau of the White Peak to the south.

Fresh from their brush with the Russian border, Dave and Ali will be sharing their pics of this fascinating land on the edge of Europe and Asia.

John will be providing a bit of historical context, plus the life and travels of Lermontov.
