Join us for a drink and a chat at The Hoop in Stock CM4 9BD from 8:30pm. There’s usually parking in the road or at the nearby village hall.



The Bures Dragon

Bures Dragon Walk

Meet in Bures by the railway station (CO8 5DH) at 10:30am for a walk of approx. 11 miles. Please bring sandwiches for lunch.

There are three dragons to spot on this walk: wall paintings in Wissington Church, stained glass at Wormingford Church and a massive hill carving visible from St Stephens Chapel.

Please let John know in advance if you’re coming, just in case there’s any change of plan.

Highlights from Dave's 40 year quest to conquer the Wainwrights – the 214 Lakeland Fells described in Wainwright's Pictorial Guides. There will be lots of gorgeous Lake District scenery and probably some pictures of Dave when he still had hair.  On Zoom at 8.30pm.

A long weekend at the National Trust's Dudmaston Bunkhouse near Bridgnorth in Shropshire.

Explore the beautiful Dudmaston Estate with its acres of pristine parkland. Visit the stunning riverside town of Bridgnorth. Walk on the Severn Valley Way and in the Shropshire Hills.

The bunkhouse is a comfortable and well equipped converted barn. Dormitories are mostly 2-bed rooms.  Linen is not provided – please bring your own pillows / sleeping bags / bedding.

Directions: From Bridgnorth, take the A458 towards Stourbridge. Travel 3 miles and after a small wood on right, take right hand turning signposted to Mose. The Bunkhouse entrance is on the left &quarter; mile down this single track.
