Wednesday 3rd November Pub Night The Duck at Newney Green (Grid ref. 651070). To get there, leave Chelmsford on Writtle Rd., pass Writtle Green, turn left (Ongar Rd.) bear right into Victoria Rd, pass Queen Vic pub, and follow the lane for about a mile to Newney Green.
Saturday 6th November Firkin Pub Crawl (and Rugby World Cup) It's now time for you all to practice the Christmas drinking you will be doing over the festive period. Your host for the day will lead you on a tour of the best ale houses our capital city has to offer, so get your winter woollies on and be very thirsty! Plan is to watch (England win?) the Rugby World Cup Final in the Flyman and Firkin and celebrate New Zealand's win afterwards (Non-Rugby fans also welcome!) The proposed schedule is:

See the alleyways that tourists never find, where knights performed deeds of bravery, a centuries-old peep hole to keep nuns safe, the most spectacular statue, a fountain which mimics ostrich feathers, black magic and traitors’ heads. Meet 11.30am outside Tower Hill Underground. Cost £5 - pay guide at the start. Culture in Krakow, sculptures in salt mines, rafts on the river and of course the spectacular lakes and mountains of the Tatras. Saturday 20th November Rodings Rally This is the annual overnight orienteering competition in Epping Forest run by Walthamstow & Chingford YHA Group.
