Programme for March 1998

Wednesday 4th March

Jim's Round The World Balloon Challenge

Jim

Your chance to circumnavigate the globe by hot-air balloon; assuming you don't get thrown out as ballast first.

Take on the persona of a historically significant passenger in a balloon which is losing height rapidly. One by one the passengers have to be jettisoned to reduce the load as the balloon's lift fails. Make your case as to why humankind would be worse off if you are forced to high jump from 30,000 feet in place of your fellow passengers.

Potted histories of the passengers will be provided so no preparation is necessary; only a persuasive manner or a parachute.

Saturday 7th March

Lynn's Finchingfield walk is now postponed until Saturday 4th April

Wednesday 11th March

Geology Evening

Chris

Bring out your old fossils and rocks as Chris guides us through the rocks and strata that make up the countryside we see all around us.
