Sunday 4th July Kentwell Hall Kentwell is a moated Tudor Mansion where they occasionally hold historical re-creations of everyday domestic Tudor life. Up to 250 enthusiasts will be living, acting, dressing and speaking as they would have done in the year 1520. King Henry is on wife no. 1 and there has been no split with Rome….. Wednesday 7th July Danbury Walk Come and join Nigel on a splendid summer evening walk in the beautiful countryside near Danbury. Meet at the Cricketers, Danbury at 7.30pm for the walk, or 9pm for a friendly drink. Friday 9th to Sunday 11th July Snowdonia Staying at Snowdon House bunkhouse, Gwastadnant, Nant Peris, a barn which was converted into a bunkhouse in 1959, but recently renovated retaining much of its original character. The Bunkhouse has a well equiped kitchen, hot and cold water showers, a drying room for those days when you might get wet., a brand new insulated roof, a large banquet style table with benches for eating meals and planning the next day's adventure. Located on the A4066, a few miles south of Llanberis, about half way between Pen y Pass and Nant Peris. Traveling from Llanberis towards Nant Peris, after leaving Nant Peris, travelling for 1/4 of a mile, you will find Snowdon House on the left side of the road, with the carpark to the right which is also the campsite entrance. Wednesday 14th July Evening Cycle Ride Destination The Hoop at Stock. Setting off from the YMCA at 7.30 for a leisurely 13 mile ride on country lanes. Please bring lights that work as you will be cycling home in the dark! Saturday 17th July Kew Gardens Roz Go up to town for a walk round the amazing gardens at Kew. My favourite is the Victorian palm house, which has to be seen to be believed! We plan to have a shared picnic lunch, please contact Roz to find out what to bring. Meet at Chelmsford railway station for the 9:41 train or outside Kew Gardens Victoria Gate (main entrance) at 11:30. Cost: £5 admission plus rail fare.
