Wednesday 3rd June Pub Quiz – Shepherd & Dog Jim Meet at the Shepherd & Dog, Crays Hill (CM11 2YA), at 8pm (or a little earlier if you fancy some nosh). Wednesday night is quiz night, so be part of our team and have a chance of winning a cash prize. Wednesday 10th June Committee Meeting Planning events for September and trips for later in the year. Please feel free to come along Sunday 14th June Stow Maries walk Doug Meet at the Prince of Wales pub (CM3 6SA) at 10:30am for a walk of about 4 miles incorporating a visit to the museum and airfield at Stow Maries (Europe’s largest surviving World War I Aerodrome). We’ll have coffee at the museum and return to the pub in the afternoon for a late lunch. Wednesday 17th June Pub Walk – The Old Windmill Cress Meet at The Old Windmill, South Hanningfield (CM3 8HT) at 7:30pm for a walk of about 3½ miles. Some of us are probably eating at the pub beforehand, so feel free to come early.
Wednesday 24th June Pitch & Putt Andrew Meet at West Park Pitch & Putt in Chelmsford (CM1 2RY) at 7:30 pm for a round of something approaching golf. Refreshments from 9pm at the Black Bull in Rainsford Road. Cost about £5
Friday 26th to Sunday 28th June Darsham, Suffolk Jim A summer weekend cycling or walking in the Suffolk countryside. Darsham Country Centre near Saxmundham is the old Station Master’s House at Darsham railway station. Providing comfortable hostel-style accommodation, the location is convenient for visits to the Suffolk coast at Southwold, Aldeburgh, Minsmere bird reserve and Walberswick. We can also visit Ipswich for art, history and culture. The Centre is on the station and close to the A12, so easy to get to by car or train. It has several 4 and 5 bed rooms and two single rooms. Deposit £25 please. Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford |
