Sunday 4th July Broomway Guided Walk Marion The Broomway is a public right of way which starts from Wakering Stairs on the coast near Shoeburyness, and heads out to sea traversing the tidal sand and mud flats of Maplin Sands, leading to Foulness Island. A unique and beautiful route, but there are dangers from the incoming tide, quicksand, fog and unexploded ordnance. So we'll be doing this walk with an experienced local guide! It's a walk of about 6 miles, taking in the best of the Broomway and stopping for tea and biscuits on Asplins Head, Foulness. Wellies are recommended, but any footwear you don’t mind getting wet is ok. Best bring a towel and change of socks and footwear to drive home. £30 to book your place. Wednesday 7th July Evening Walk - Writtle Cress Join us for an evening walk of about 4 miles from the lovely village of Writtle, with the possibility of a drink at the pub afterwards.
