Wednesday 3rd July Archery Session Jonathan Meet at Skreens Park, Roxwell, CM1 4NL, at 7.15pm for an introduction to archery starting at 7.30pm. We expect to be relaxing with a drink at The Hare, Roxwell Rd, CM1 4LU from 9pm. Wednesday 10th July Pub Walk - The Rayleigh Arms Cress Meet by the village hall in Terling (The Dismals, CM3 2PW ///consonant.vest.downcast) at 7.30pm for a walk of about 4 miles. Drinks afterwards at the Rayleigh Arms, Owls Hill, Terling,.
Sunday 14th July Walk - Pleshey & The Walthams Cress Meet by the village sign in Pleshey at 10.30am (there is parking on the street) for a walk of about 9 miles. Refreshments en route (most likely The White Hart in Little Waltham), but please bring sandwiches. Wednesday 17th July Committee Meeting Join us on Zoom looking at events for November and trips for next summer. Wednesday 24th July Hylands Picnic & Games Cress Meet near "Mauros In The Park" café and the children's play area (///crunch.boots.scuba) from (Writtle bypass entrance) at 7:30pm. Bring your own food and drink for a picnic, plus any games you fancy playing. If the weather turns wet, plan B is for drinks in the Rose & Crown, Writtle. Friday 26th to Sunday 28th July Burnham Deepdale, Norfolk Jim We have exclusive use of Deepdale Granary Group Hostel, a former 17th Century granary at Deepdale Farm which has been refitted as a comfortable and spacious hostel on the North Norfolk coast. There's a cafe next door, and two pubs within walking distance. The area is famous for its nature and bird reserves, especially Titchwell and Holkham. The village church, with its Norman Font and Saxon Roundtower, is part of a chain of ancient churches along the coastline, with many other fascinating stately homes and historical buildings close by. Admiral Lord Nelson was born and learnt to sail in the area. There'll be opportunities for cycling as well as walking. Directions: The Granary hostel is in Burnham Deepdale, approximately half way between Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea on the A149 coast road (next to the petrol station). Postcode is PE31 8DD. Wednesday 31st July Evening Walk – Stock Jim Meet at Stock Village Hall (CM4 9NF) at 7.30pm for a walk of about 4 miles, followed by drinks in The Bakers Arms. Note that you can park at the village hall, but it closes at 10pm. Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm on Zoom. Please get in touch for joining instructions. |
