Wednesday 2nd September Danbury Bat Walk Meet at the National Trust car park near The Cricketers in Danbury at 7:30pm for a short walk down to Danbury Lakes with the bat detector. Hopefully we'll find some bats skimming for insects above the lakes. Please bring a torch for fumbling back to the pub in the dark. Directions: Take A414 east from Chelmsford, turn right at mini-roundabout opposite the Bell Inn in Danbury (Well Lane), left at the end, car park is on the left after ¼ mile, just beyond junction with Penny Royal Rd; grid ref TL779046, see map Wednesday 9th September Round The Horne Theatre Trip The Mercury Theatre, Colchester, is showing "Round the Horne: Unseen and Uncut" a stage show based on one of the best-loved programs in radio history, with a mix of innuendo, camp caricature and word-play. Featuring J. Peasemould Gruntfuttock, Rambling Syd Rumpo, Dame Celia Molestrangler and many more. The fun starts at 7:30pm, tickets from £10.50. Sunday 13th September Essex Way (Part 4) Walk the section of the Essex Way from White Notley to Great Tey (about 11 miles). Meet promptly at 10.00am in The Street, Great Tey, near the church (TL892258, see map), and we’ll share a lift to Cressing Temple to start the walk. Wednesday 16th September Committee Meeting Join us to plan our trips for spring and events for December & January. Everybody welcome. Wednesday 23rd September Pub night – Queens Head Fancy a drink?
