October 2018

The Three Elms, Chignal St James

Wednesday 3rd October

Pub Meal – The Three Elms

George

Another year and another birthday for George. As has now become traditional, we will be meeting at The Three Elms, Chignal St James, CM1 4TZ, at about 7:30pm for a celebratory meal. Everybody welcome, but please let George know by 26 September for table booking purposes.

Wednesday 10th October

Dollywould

Cress

Fresh from the Edinburgh festival, this is a comic take on the life and times of Dolly Parton. A warning for those of a nervous disposition: it may contain some rude bits. The show is at the Cramphorn Studio, Chelmsford, 8pm.

Tickets are £1.50 plus a voluntary donation. I imagine it will sell out, so let Cress know asap if you want to come.

Wednesday 17th October

AGM

The CYHA annual general meeting. Please make every effort to attend and help shape our club for the coming year.

Including a review of the year’s activities and election of the committee

Sunday 21st October

North Fambridge & Stow Maries

John W

Walk through open farmland, riverbank, and over 2 miles of footpaths with a canopy of trees that should look stunning with autumn colour. The walk is about 10½ miles, with option to go back to cars at about 8 miles. There is parking at North Fambridge station (£2.00 charge for day), meeting there at 10am for the walk.

Please bring sandwiches for lunch, but there is a pub about 1 mile from the end of the walk.

Wednesday 24th October

Committee Meeting

Planning events for January and trips for next summer. Please feel free to join us. We’ll be at The Crown in Sandon from 8.30pm.

Wednesday 31st October

Cuba Slide Show

Jim

Share the spectacle of Jim and Lily’s recent trip to Cuba. There will be faded colonial architecture, fantastic beaches and probably a couple of old cars too.

Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford
