St Catherines Church Eskdale

Friday 2nd to Friday 9th November

Eskdale, Lake District

Dave P

An autumnal week in the Lake District. We've booked Fisherground Farmhouse in Eskdale - a self-catering house sleeping 16 people (4 doubles and 4 twins). The house is in the heart of Eskdale, one of the most tranquil valleys of the Lake District, and has fantastic views of the surrounding fells. The George IV pub is just 10 minutes’ walk away.

On Monday (5th November), we'll be celebrating Ali's big birthday.

Come for a long weekend, or the full week. Cost of accommodation about £20 per person per night (with a minimum payment of 4 nights per person).

Directions: From M6 J36 follow signs to Barrow (A590). 3 miles beyond Newby Bridge turn right to Workington (A5092). After 10 miles (&threequarters; mile beyond Broughton) turn right at lights to Ulpha. Turn left in Ulpha village to the steep hill signed Eskdale. Follow the fell road to the King George IV pub (6 miles). Turn right up the valley road. Fisherground is 200 yards on your left.

To find the parking please turn into the orchard, cross the bridge over the stream, drive past the wooden lodges and follow the entrance between the barn and the house (avoid parking in the yard in front of the Farmhouse).

Please arrive after 16:30. The beds will be made up for you; please bring your own towels.

Deposit £80 to book your bed.

Endlessly referred to by later film makers, this is a must for any fan of cinema. We only have a handful of tickets, so let Cress know right away if you want to come (£6.90).

Please bring sandwiches for lunch, but there should be a pub stop en route with pubs and cafes at Coggeshall to finish.
