Wednesday 6th November Curry Night – Coach & Horses Jim Join Jim at the Coach and Horses in Billericay for one of their special curry nights. £9.95 gets you a trio of curries to try, which is probably enough for two people. Meet at 7:30pm (Chapel Street, CM12 9LU, near Waitrose). Let Jim know by 23 Oct if you want to come. Wednesday 13th November Committee Meeting Plan future trips and events. Everyone welcome. Sunday 17th November Great Waltham Walk Jim Meet at Great Waltham village car park (South Street CM3 1DF, just off Chelmsford Road) at 10:30am for a 6 mile walk, finishing at the Rose and Crown (Gt Waltham) for a late lunch about 2ish. Let Jim know by 13 November if you want to join us for lunch. Wednesday 20th November Ten Pin Bowling Jim Ten-pin bowling at Tenpin, Tattersall Way, Widford Industrial Estate, Chelmsford. Please let Jim know in advance (by 17th November) if you want to come so we know how many lanes to book. Meet there at 8.30pm. Cost will be £6 to £12. Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th Nov. Darsham, Suffolk Mike A weekend at Darsham Country Centre near Saxmundham in Suffolk. The Centre is the old Station Master’s House at Darsham railway station. Recently re-furbished to provide comfortable hostel-style accommodation, the location is convenient for visits to the Suffolk coast at Southwold, Aldeburgh, Minsmere bird reserve and Walberswick. We can also visit Ipswich for art, history and culture. The Centre is on the station and close to the A12, so easy to get to by car or train. It has several 4 and 5 bed rooms and two single rooms. Deposit £28 to book your bed. Wednesday 27th November Malta slide show Mike & Cress Join us for an evening of slides of Mike and Cress’s recent holiday to the isle of Malta. John M has volunteered to give us a bit of historical context as we bask in a bit of Mediterranean warmth. Note: Unless otherwise stated, Wednesday events start at 8.30pm at the YMCA in Victoria Road, Chelmsford |
