Wednesday 1st February Pub night - Sir Evelyn Wood Jim Join us for a drink and a chat at The Sir Evelyn Wood pub. We plan to be propping up the bar from 8:30pm. The Sir Evelyn Wood is tucked away in Widford Road, Chelmsford, CM2 8SY. Wednesday 8th February Committee meeting Planning events for May and trips for the autumn. Please feel free to join us, we'll be at The Crown in Sandon. Friday 10th to Sunday 12th February Medway, Kent Cress Join us for a weekend exploring the wonders of Kent. YHA Medway is a converted oast house by Capstone Country Park, near Rochester. As well as the walking opportunities on the North Downs, there's the chance to visit Rochester with its castle and Dickens Centre, and the Historic Dockyard at Chatham is well worth a visit. Deposit £28 to book. Total cost will be about £46 for the weekend, including bed, meals and petrol contribution for those sharing lifts from Chelmsford. Wednesday 15th February Polignano Deli Restaurant Jim Fancy an Italian? Jim is organising a meal out at the Polignano Deli at the corner of Baddow Road and the Can Way near the Odeon in Chelmsford (CM2 0WP). Please let Jim know by 8 Feb if you want to book a seat. We're planning to arrive at 7:30pm. Sunday 19th February Sunday Walk: Maldon & Blackwater Estuary Chris Meet at The Hythe by the barges in Maldon at 10.30am for a walk along the Blackwater estuary with its mix of busy quayside boatyards, marinas and meadows. Approx 8 miles. There should be time for pubs and cafes in Maldon at the end of the walk, but please bring sandwiches for lunch. Parking in High Street East Car Park,on the left towards bottom of High Street. £1 all day. Wednesday 22nd February Iceland Slideshow Robin & Sarah Spectacular scenery with mountains, waterfalls, glaciers and volcanoes. See the photos from Robin & Sarah's trip last summer.
