Wednesday 3rd February Tenpin Bowling Watch out those skittles! CYHA go bowling! Ten-pin bowling at Tenpin, Tattersall Way, Widford Industrial Estate, Chelmsford. Please let Mike know in advance (by 27th January) if you want to come so we know how many lanes to book. Meet there at 8.30pm. Cost will be £6 to £12 depending on the number of games. Friday 5th to Sunday 7th February Castle Acre, Norfolk The Old Red Lion is an independent hostel in the historic Norman town of Castle Acre, North West Norfolk. This medieval walled town lies within the outer bailey of an 11th-century castle. Castle Acre is on the Peddars Way, an ancient track, now a long distance path. Castle Acre is 3¼ miles north of Swaffham. The Old Red Lion, a former pub, is on the left 75 yards down Bailey Street (go under Norman Arch in village centre, grid ref TF818151, see map). The price includes wholefood vegetarian breakfast, and all bedding and linen are provided. Deposit £35 to book your bed. Total about £54. Sunday 14th February Walk in Lee Valley Park George A former member of Ilford group has kindly offered to lead a walk in Lee Valley Park. Meet at 10.30am in the car park at Lee Valley Park Farm (called Hayes Hill Farm on older maps). Follow B194 out of Waltham Abbey and after 1½ miles turn sharply left into Stubbins Hall Lane and right to reach the farm car park (grid ref TL382033, see map). The walk is 9½ miles around the lakes, river banks and woods in the heart of Lee Valley Park. There be a pub or café available at lunchtime.
