Saffron Walden Walk and Pub Lunch

Both Lorna and Lily are celebrating significant birthdays this month and would like you to join them for a short walk and pub lunch. This walk allows you time to take in the delights of Saffron Walden as well as viewing the picturesque Audley End House and its surrounding grounds.

Start 10am at Swan Meadow long stay car park (off B184 at NW end of town, follow "P₃₉₄", grid ref TL533385, postcode CB10 1BZ)

Distance 4 miles. Lunch will be at 12.30pm at the Queen's Head in Littlebury. It would help if you could indicate if you're likely to be requiring lunch, by 2^nd December (please txt Nick).

Our plan is the usual mix of fun, food and dancing, starting at 7:30pm at Chignal St James village hall (Mashbury Road, CM1 4TS). Please bring drinks and some food to share. We are planning a quiz and a photo caption competition, plus Dave’s running a slide show of this year’s activities. Please email Dave with any photo contributions and bring along any prints you have which are crying out for a witty caption.

To find it (grid ref TL665108, see map) take the A1060 (Rainsford Rd./Roxwell Rd.) out of Chelmsford; turn right at lights into Chignall Rd., after 1 mile turn left (Mashbury Rd) signposted Chignall St. James. Hall is on the left after almost 2 miles.

Manorbier, Pembrokeshire Coast

A cliff-top hostel on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Explore sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, natural arches and caves. Manorbier village, pub and castle are a mile away, and the medieval walled seaside town of Tenby is 5 miles. We have exclusive use of the 14-bed hostel annex for 5 nights.

Cost of accommodation will be about £20 per person per night (but you need to be prepared to pay for at least 4 nights), plus £6 per day for food. This Trip is now full.
